Another excellent Fall getaway
Review Submitted: October 12, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
Went back for a second visit to SailAway for Columbus Day weekend in October. We found it to be just as peaceful as last year. It is a perfect getaway less than an hour from Atlanta. You feel like you are hours into the mountains. The serenity and beauty of the lake is like no other. Bob is a wonderful host. The communication along with the ammenities in the house were perfect for our family and friends. Comfortable!

Best Christmas Vacation
Review Submitted: December 28, 2011 Date of Stay: December 2011
Family travels from 2 other states during Christmas and GA is the center meeting grounds for everyone. We rented this lakefront home and everyone fell in love. The view is beautiful, the home is completely stocked with anything and everything you need. It's convenient to a near by grocery store if needed and only 20 min from town.
This is our second stay at this lake house and we'll continue to rent from the owner for all our vacation needs.

Great Thanksgiving 2011
Review Submitted: December 6, 2011 Date of Stay: November 2011
2 families (8+) stayed at Sail Away for Thanksgiving. The kids loved having the downstairs foozball and tv all to themselves. The men loved the fishing from the dock and the ladies loved drinking their wine on the deck swing. There was plenty of plates, silverware, glasses, pots and pans to accommodate a whole Thanksgiving dinner. The place is very peaceful and the view from the house is spectacular. Having and using the canoe was fun. The hotub was a great addition in the chilly evenings. Everyone had a wonderful time:)

Perfect Vacation Place
Review Submitted: November 4, 2011 Date of Stay: October 2011
This was a perfect place for our family to spend time together and attend a family wedding near this property. The kitchen had lots of plates, bowls, kettles, etc. to make our meals. It was nice having a dish washer so we didn't have to spend time doing dishes. The bedrooms were perfect. In the lower level there were electronic games for the younger adult kids. The property was clean and well maintained. The view was also beautiful. It was in October and the trees were pretty. I would definitely go back.

Dream Vacation House (SailAway House)
Review Submitted: October 3, 2011 Date of Stay: September 2011
Cleanest house we have ever rented with everything a person can ask for. Not only is the house beautiful, but the view of the lake is awesome. Access to the lake is only a few dozen steps to a beautiful deck with a pontoon boat, padle boat, and cannoe. If you are looking for a great vacation destination and a great place to stay this is the place to be!
We have rented homes and cabins all over the USA in places like Northern Minnasotta, Winsconsin, and Tennessee and all the places we have stayed at didn't have the total package like the SailAway house.

Our family LOVES staying at Lake Arrowhead. This location is situated in a perfect spot on the lake. The view of the water is beautiful and the area is quiet and so peaceful. We fished, swam, canoed, and relaxed. Our kids had so much fun. Because the lake isn't crowded, I felt completely safe with them on the water. We have already recommended this vacation to some of our friends.

Memorial Day week-end May 26-May 30, 2011
Review Submitted: May 31, 2011 Date of Stay: May 2011
Hello Audience,
We are a family of 7 adults and 5 children(ages 3-9). Our stay was simply the best family vacation that we've ever had. The weather was very stormy the first night, but thereafter it was almost perfect. The lake is beautiful, clean, & clear. The water was about 75 degrees Fahrenheit on the surface most of the 5 days which made for invigorating swims and playtime for the children. With small children, we maintained a close control and lifeguarding detail anytime the children were down at the dock. The canoe and paddleboat were a nice extra. We had brought our own fishing boat. The dock is perfectly placed and outfitted with tiedowns, etc. The lake house was perfect for our needs and comfort. The staff at the real estate office for the lake association were very cordial and helpful. Bob and Tamara were over the top in their response, guidance, and preparation of their home. Thanks again for a great stay. I Peter 4:9 & Malachi 3:16. We look forward to coming back sometimes in the future.
Sincerely,
Paul Lowery

Great house for a get-away! Canoe and paddle boat and hot tub add to the terrific view and comfortable beds. Hang out on the two house decks and the water deck for sun and fun. We had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend and celebrated a 90th birthday of the Great-grandmother with family all there. Super lake house in great location. All was cleaned right before we arrived and the hot tub drained and cleaned and frilled. The Club Grill at Lake Arrowhead was super for dinner and for carry-out; we chose to bring pizzas back and they were delicious, as was the dinner on Saturday. There were 20 of us spread over two rental lake houses and my own home in Lake Arrowhead, and we had a wonderful time on the Lake. Cold mountain water was refreshing! Thanks, Bob, for a great house rental.

Relaxing New Year
Review Submitted: January 4, 2011 Date of Stay: December 2010
This house is beautiful!!! There is plenty of space - 3 King size beds, a bunk room, and a sleeper sofa. The kitchen has all the amenities to prepare a large meal. The deck has an excellent view of the lake and the hot tub provides a great place to enjoy the view from the deck.
I highly recommend this house for a relaxing weekend away from Atlanta. The house is on a quiet street and a low traffic area on the lake. We had a great stay!!!!

My family and friends had a wonderful vacation. The house is well kept and free from any pesky insects. The beds were very comfortable and everything in the home was in working order. We spent our days swimming and boating on the crystal clear lake. There is a nice flat area by the dock that we set up a corn hole game and played that until it was dark. My son and his friend were excited about all the fish they caught off the dock. The area is so peaceful and free from any traffic noises. I would have to say that we had one of our best vacations here. We also went white water rafting on the Ocoee River and a day at Stone Mountain which are each about 60 minutes away. We all can't wait to go back again next year. Thanks Bob for sharing your house with us.

The Lamb Perspective

We had a blast this week. Everything was absolutely perfect. The house was very clean and the layout was great for kids. The canoe and paddle boat were a bonus. The dock to jump off of was tons of fun. Hot tub was very relaxing. The grill made it fun to hang outside and get out of the boring indoor cooking routine. The downstairs area was fun for the kids to play games and also have time for themselves to escape the parents :)
I will recommend this property to all family and friends.

Sailaway provided my family with some much needed peace, rest, and relaxation. The home is roomy, clean, and has everything you could possibily want or need. The view is amazing! Bob went out of his way to make sure we could truly enjoy our time at his home. I loved that we were able to canoe and kayak without boats zooming by, as this part of the lake is a "no wake" area. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend this home!

My wife and I spent a wonderful time in this house. One of the things that I liked the most was the beautiful sunrise. Each morning I would get up just to see that. It was simply spectacular! The lake is very peaceful and very clean. Good for fishing and swimming. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Fantastic Weekend Getaway!
Review Submitted: June 30, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
My wife and I spent our anniversary here this past month. We had a wonderful time. It is not that far, but far enough from the Atlanta busy-ness. The location is beautiful. The kitchen is brand new, and the jacuzzi is a great addition to the relaxing atmosphere.
Fully recommend this to anyone who would like to just get away for a few days. (or longer!)

Thanks for the great comments.

We had a fantastic time over our long October weekend. We did not expect to be able to do any swimming, but, even in the colder Fall breeze, the kids couldn't resist jumping in quite a bit. The house was very clean and comfortable for our family and friends. We loved the views and quiet serenity of the lake, especially in the evenings. Bob's communication was fantastic throughout our stay. The best part is that we were home in less than an hour! So close to Atlanta, yet seemed so far away.

My husband and I were looking for a peaceful getaway not too far away from Marietta - and your home with the beautiful lake front view was wonderful. The cooler, overcast day made for a very relaxing and enjoyable boating day with our friends who live in the area. Maybe next time we will bring the kids!! Thanks again for sharing your home with us.

Once a year our family gets together at some vacation destination, and this was the best yet. The cottage was a fantastic place for our "reunion", everyone was happy! (not easy to accomplish!) The kids (aged 3 - 19) enjoyed hanging out in the playroom downstairs, in the hot tub and on the dock. We all had plenty of room, but somehow we'd all end up on the deck at night watching little storms roll in over the water...beautiful!! We had so much fun just hanging out on the dock and in the water. We love that we can jump right off the deck into the deep water - and that the water was so warm. The kids played on the tubes, toured the lake in the paddleboat and did a lot of fishing off the dock - and we caught a lot of fish! Renting the pontoon boat was another highlight. The kids all went tubing and had a great time seeing who could stand on the tube the longest. It was pretty funny. Lake Arrowhead is beautiful, unspoiled and so peaceful, we couldn't believe we were only an hour away from Atlanta. We felt like we were hours away! The cottage had great views of the lake and it was comfy for the whole family. All the cousins, aunts and uncles agree that we definitely want to go back to this cottage next year! Thanks so much!

We booked the house and received all the needed instructions from Bob. We had a hard time finding the house at night but when we did arrive at the house it was worth it. Wonderful views of the lake and mountains. The water was clear and warm. The house is very comfortable and furnished nicely. All the beds are new and king size. The kitchen has new appliances. We rented the pontoon boat and had a great time. I would recommend this house to anyone that does not mind stairs. :-).
This is a great place to relax and get away from it all..... Andy

We just loved staying at your lake house. My family and I enjoyed our time and want to come back again. It rained the first day but the weather was great the rest of the week. My son caught three large fish from the dock. He had a blast. We went swimming every day and took the paddle boat out ever chance we could. The golf course was wonderful even though we lost a few balls. We will try and make it back next year. The house exceeded our expectations.

My family and I were delighted with the lake house. It rained the first day but the rest of the time was just great. My son caught three large fish and was swimming in the water from sun up to sun down. The house was perfect and more than what we expected. Very clean. Great views. Golf and horseback riding are a must. Thanks for everything. We will be back next year if possible.
